Hey friends 👋
"How do you stay motivated?"
I get asked this question a lot. You see my IG stories, waking up early every day, putting in the work, exercising... and think I must be really motivated to stay this consistent.
Well, how do I say it? No, I'm not.
In the past, I used to struggle with this. But then I realized something: I could achieve much more if I stopped putting motivation on a pedestal.
I know, sometimes you watch a video, read an article, or have an idea, and it hits you. You feel a spark inside, a huge impulse to do something. And if you act instantly, you'll feel more productive than ever.
But here's the problem. You believe that this is what you need to do again, and again, and again...
You wait for these little motivational moments to get work done, exercise, and move toward your goals...And your focus shifts from taking action to seeking that mental state. Instead of doing the thing, you want to FEEL like doing the thing.
Once you realize that, it becomes clear: you can do way more if you stop listening to your feelings.
If you simply do the thing, regardless of how you're feeling about it.
And that's called: discipline.
So yeah, I'm not motivated all the time. I just have clear goals, and show up every day with the intention of doing my best to move one step closer toward them.
Now, what about you? Do you struggle with motivation? Let me know in the comments.
That's it for this week. Thank you for being part of this journey!
